Why 30 Days

Most skincare products need consistent daily use before results become visible. Cell turnover, the process by which skin sheds old cells and produces new ones, takes roughly 28 days in younger adults and longer as skin ages. A 30-day commitment gives most products enough time to complete at least one full cycle, which is why many skincare brands frame their trials around this window.

What the Challenge Covers

The 30-day challenge builds a daily skincare habit step by step, starting with the basics (cleanse and SPF) and adding one new step every few days. This gradual layering approach reduces the risk of overloading skin with multiple new products at once, which can make it harder to identify what is helping or causing a reaction.

Patch Testing During the Challenge

Whenever the challenge introduces a new product or active ingredient, patch test it first. Apply a small amount to the inside of your wrist or behind your ear, wait 24 hours, and check for redness, itching, or swelling before applying to your face. This is especially important for actives like retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and vitamin C.

Tracking Your Progress

The skin log tool works alongside the challenge. Taking a consistent photo each week under the same lighting, from the same angle, gives you a real comparison point rather than relying on day-to-day impressions, which are easy to misread.
